General view of the Mui Trau tunnels on the La Son-Tuy toll road

The works of the La Son-Tuy Loan highway are near completion, which, with a total extension of 77.6 km, begins in the province of Thua Thien-Hue, and ends at the intersection with Da Nang.

The infrastructure is part of the 3,183 km long Ho Chi Minh road, which spans a total of 28 Vietnamese locations, starting at La Son, in Thua Thien-Hue province, and ending at the intersection with Da Nang -Autopista de Quang Ngai in the population of Da Nang Tuy.

In the absence of the installation of electrical, lighting, ventilation, fire protection and intelligent traffic control systems, the foundation work, pavements and drainage systems in which Sintec waterproofing sheets are present have been completed.

Built by the limited company Song Da 10, the highway is, with its twin tunnels in which Sintec with its waterproofing sheets participates, one of the most modern road infrastructures in Vietnam and has involved an investment of more than 400 million euros.

The tunnels have a total length of 1,300 and 1,320 meters in length, 10.8 m wide and 7.2 m high, and consist of 2 lanes connected to each other through 3 safety galleries. In order to fix the waterproofing, the company has chosen URDIN TSL waterproofing sheets of Flexible Vinyl Polychloride (PVC-P) manufactured exclusively from virgin resins, which guarantees constant characteristics over time and optimum durability, also having a high level of tightness. For it to be chosen, its high resistance to punching, the presence of a signal layer for visual detection of any damage that could be caused during installation, and its resistance to root drilling have been very important.
